Description

The Galaxy Rasbora (Danio margaritatus), also widely known as the Celestial Pearl Danio, is a selectively maintained ornamental nano fish recognized for its compact body, pearly white spotting, deep blue-grey coloration, and vivid red-orange finnage. Native to small freshwater habitats in Myanmar and Thailand, this species naturally inhabits shallow, heavily vegetated waters with gentle flow and abundant cover.

The body typically displays a deep blue-grey to charcoal base decorated with numerous irregular pearl-like white to cream spots. Mature males develop stronger red-orange coloration in the fins and along the underside of the body, while females generally have a fuller body and comparatively softer coloration. Under suitable lighting and stable conditions, the combination of metallic spotting and warm fin coloration produces a striking galaxy-like appearance.

Behaviour is peaceful, active, and socially structured.
